Personal project · Product strategy & systems design

SuiYu is an early-stage exploration into how a digital creature ecosystem could work as more than a collectible — combining progressive identity, NFT minting, PvP gameplay, lore, social proof, and an intelligence layer that helps the world respond to player behaviour over time.

The project is being shaped around a simple question:

What if a digital character didn’t just exist in a wallet, but developed a history?

SuiYu is designed as a connected product ecosystem where users can mint creatures, evolve them through participation, battle other players, unlock meaningful moments, and build a visible legacy across seasons. The work combines product strategy, systems thinking, UX architecture, game mechanics, and narrative design.

01 What the product will do

SuiYu is being designed around several connected systems:

  • Progressive identity. Creatures evolve over time based on participation, choices, progression, and ecosystem activity — creating a sense of ownership that feels earned rather than static.
  • NFT minting and evolution. Users begin by minting an early-stage creature, then move through progression layers such as traits, skills, fusion, lineage, and higher-tier identity states.
  • PvP battle system. Players will be able to enter structured battles using loadouts, strategies, and competitive lanes, with results designed to feel explainable, fair, and tied to player skill.
  • SuiYu intelligence layer. SuiYu’s intelligence layer makes the ecosystem easier to enter, understand, and return to. The Awakening Protocol guides new users into the Hydrosphere, while progression intelligence interprets creature history, battles, and identity. The SuiYu Lore Terminal surfaces the moments, events, and canon beats that make the world feel alive.
  • Moments and legacy. Important actions such as battle upsets, rivalries, rare evolutions, season achievements, and canon events can become visible records within the ecosystem.
  • Lore and canon. SuiYu is also being developed as a world with memory — where seasons, community decisions, and major events can shape the ongoing story.

Write-up in progress

The detailed case study for SuiYu is currently being developed. It will cover how I approached the product strategy, mapped the ecosystem, defined the core mechanics, structured the UX, and explored how game systems, NFT ownership, progressive identity, and narrative worldbuilding could connect into one coherent product experience.

In the meantime, I’m happy to walk through the strategy, system maps, UX thinking, and product direction directly.
